SWIFT is the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (www.swift.com), a member-owned cooperative.

Everyday SWIFT exchanges millions of standardised secure financial messages, supporting over 10,000 financial institutions and corporations in 210 countries, allowing businesses to conduct their operations with speed, certainty and confidence.

Within the affiliated members (banks, brokers, licenced and non-licenced institutions) the sending of messages via SWIFT exclusively describes the sending of a message which transmits industry specific content with an "MT" coding (standing for message types) followed by a three figure number. Such messages can for instance be transfers, notices of the opening of a letter of credit or securities transactions.

Point Bank has access to SWIFT services.
